Rockend History / Milestones

Rockend was established in 1979 by Tony Maple-Brown. In the early years the company worked on a range of general accounting solutions before focusing on property and strata management applications. The first office was established in the small shipyard suburb of Waverton, on the north of Sydney Harbour.

In 2012, Rockend launched Australia's first true cloud based property management solution, PropertyTree.

Today REST Professional, STRATA Master, fileSMART and PropertyTree are used every day by over 26,000 property and strata management professionals throughout Australia and New Zealand.

An industry leader, Rockend still remains focused on delivering the best products and support available to the property sector. Our reputation, growth and ongoing success stems from the quality of our people, a diverse team with extensive industry experience and the support of our clients.

Where did the name come from?

Rockend is the name of a house (now a restaurant) in Punt Road, Gladesville NSW where my great, great, grandmother – Emily Mary Barton – lived for over 40 years. While an amazing person in her own right she is best remembered as the grandmother of Banjo Patterson who lived at Rockend in the 1870s while studying at Sydney Grammar School.
