Owner & Tenant Portal Enhancements

REST Professional Version 10 delivers more functionality to the Owner & Tenant Portals, which allows you to create a powerful forum for driving business through the portals on your website.

The portals have been enhanced with a new look and feel and make available more information from REST professional to your Owners and Tenants. Enhancements include:

  • Ability to customise the portals with new tabs for Owner and Tenant Details, footers for your own advertisements, etc.
  • More Property Information made available including photos, detailed information on property features.
  • More Tenant information made available including paid to dates, lease dates, vacate dates, outstanding invoices, etc.
Sales Module Enhancements

The sales module has been revamped in version 10, with several enhancements to make your days easier and more efficient. These enhancements include;

  • Improved toolbar with more shortcuts to popular features.
  • New wizard for End-of-Month, Back-up and Restore.
  • Enhanced Sale Advertising Funds management
  • Enhanced Sale Advertising Funds management.
  • Ability to replicate a sale to minimise data entry.
Enhanced REST Professional & fileSMART Integration

If you are using fileSMART as your electronic document management system, this feature will provide the ability to seamlessly save and retrieve documents from fileSMART from within REST Professional. This will replace the Document Management feature found in REST Professional.

You will now be able to archive one off and bulk mail merges from REST Professional to fileSMART directly, and bypass the pending queue step. You will be able to initiate fileSMART searches from within REST Professional, and copy your documents currently saved in REST Document Management into fileSMART.

This will give you the opportunity to create new processes for more seamless document management.

Important note; this functionality is dependent on the upcoming release of fileSMART Version 4.6.

End of Month Procedures & KPI Report Enhancements

The following enhancements have been made to help you streamline your end of month procedures and reporting.

  • End-of-Month and Mid-Month wizards now include steps to; Print Creditor Unpaid Disbursement Report and Create BPAY file.
  • ABA, BPAY and Direct Debit file paths now display to assist you when uploading to the bank.
  • Enhancements to the KPI Property Manager Reports with new columns added to make the reports easier to read.

REST Mobile Version 2

REST Mobile is a fantastic time saving app for users of REST Professional. With REST Mobile you can access your REST Professional database to retrieve owner, tenant and property details, straight from your mobile device (iPhone, iPad, and Android devices).

Version 2 delivers some great new functionality including:

  • Ability to email photos directly from the REST Contact fields.
  • More REST Data made available such as Property Manager, Sales Status, Listing and Selling Salesperson.

Look out for version 2 on iTunes and Android market.

REST Professional now includes three automated Key Performance Indicator KPI reports. These new reports provide the ability to benchmark and improve efficiency within your business. Reports provided are:

• Property Manager KPI Report
• Team KPI Summary
• Business Benchmarks and KPI Summary


The reports bring together property portfolio information making it easy to identify areas that are performing and those that require attention. Reports are automatically generated on a weekly and monthly basis in Microsoft Excel format. When generated, an email notification will be sent to a designated email address containing a link to the reports location



REST Professional Version 9.5 has extended the ability to pay creditors in bulk using BPAY with the ANZ Bank, Commonwealth Bank, National Australia Bank and Westpac Banking Corporation.
 
This time saving feature enables users to pay creditors in bulk without worrying about remittance slips and cheques. It is particularly useful for paying bills such as water, council rates, electricity, phone, strata levies and any other creditor who has a BPAY® biller number.

*Previously only provided for clients that banked with Macquarie Bank.



The Property Water Efficiency feature allows you to identify and report on properties that are water efficient to assist in determining which party is responsible for the water usage. This is of most benefit to NSW and QLD users. In these states, legislation has set minimum criteria to establish whether a property is water efficient so that water charges can be passed onto tenants.

This feature will save you time when raising water usage invoices as you will be able to quickly determine which party is responsible for the water account without having to open multiple screens.

REST Communicator delivers the ability to offer your clients branded Owner & Tenant portals via the web to your client base.

Owners can:

  • View a list of their properties 
  • View current owner statements
  • View historical owner statements
  • View current and previous Income and Expenditure Reports
  • View contact details of and contact their property manager
  • Retrieve their username and password

Tenants can:
  • View recent tenant ledger 
  • View past tenant ledger
  • View contact details of and contact their property manager



REST Professional MS Outlook Sychronisation enables you to;

  • Synchronise your REST Professional Action Diaries and Commercial Diaries to your MS Outlook Calendar 
  • Synchronise REST Professional Contact details for Owners, Tenants and Creditors to MS Outlook Contacts.

This enhancement will ensure that the complete record of interactions is always stored within REST Professional, but Property Managers will be able to access REST appointments and Contact information from anywhere via laptop and or smartphone.



The Tenant Invoice Credit feature in REST Professional will allow users to receipt funds from Tenants for invoices that have not yet been raised. REST Professional Version 9 Tenant Invoice Credit feature introduces a tenant ledger to manage advance tenant payments such as water usage. This ledger controls the funds kept in credit and ensures that they are not incorrectly paid out to owners as rent.

Additional screens have been added to manage the receipting and allocation of the funds in credit. New reports have also been added to REST to monitor these transactions for audit purposes. This new feature will enable you to reduce time spent on debt collection for items such as water rates as tenants will be paying in advance.

Barcode Scanning for Creditor Disbursements

Barcode Scanning for Creditor Disbursements automates the processing of large batches of invoices, such as water and council rates. The use of this functionality removes the need for data entry and increases accuracy when processing creditor disbursements within REST Professional. This feature will save time for every bookkeeper and property manager who is currently processing Creditor Disbursements in REST Professional today.

Direct Connect Integration

Rockend and Direct Connect have collaborated to provide you the easiest possible method for sending your tenants connection requests through.

The aim is to ensure you, the property manager, is only required to data enter the tenants details once, into REST Professional, removing the need to double enter the data to arrange for a tenants connection once successful. This functionality will increase the time effectiveness of a property manager and streamline the utility connection process.

Tenant Contacts

A great enhancement to tenant contacts is the ability to add the name, salutation, email address and phone numbers of the individual tenants in a tenancy.
Contacts may be flagged as the primary contact as well as lease, accounts or repairs contacts. When you use mail merge to send letters, emails or text messages to tenants you can choose to send them to the primary contact, all contacts or to a specific type of contacts.

Action & Conversation Diary

The action and conversation diary has been combined with the personal diary and expanded.

Bulk BPAY for Macquarie Bank

Pay your creditors by BPAY® as well as by cheque and EFT. This is particularly useful for paying bills such as water, council rates, electricity, phone, strata levies and any other creditor who has a BPAY® biller number.

Property Reminders

Need a regular reminder? You can now add up to five reminders to a property for tasks such as, safety switches in WA, water compliance in QLD, chimney sweeping in New Zealand and any other task for which you want a regular reminder.

Automatic Bond Payments

The Automatic Bond Payments makes it easier to manage the bonds held in your trust account and allows you to pay them to the Bond Authority in one step instead of posting each bond as a separate disbursement.

Google Maps

Find your way to and from inspections and quickly email directions to clients with Google maps. If you have internet access, you may now access Google Maps directly from Property Details. Display the property you require and click on the map icon to the right of the property address.

1Form Tenant Applications

1Form is an online tenancy application system that allows a tenant to complete an application electronically which is then sent to you via email. REST will now read the emailed files and automatically create the tenants in REST Professional.
